Sorry to say that I don't know the referecnce but I love the charecter! The clothing, pose, forshortening is all top-notch. The shading is a bit cartony resulting from some incosequent shading but overall a really cool piece. In particular I like the rimlighting and the cartoony bouncelight on the coat. What I am missing, primarily, is a shadow underneath the charecter to place him in the environment (Rationale for 4.5/5). Otherwise a really cool piece :) Well done.

Thank for the critic, really helpful!

Ultra simplistic but sooo much atmosphere! Reminds me of an old 2D scroller game called Fear or something like that. However, this looks like a modern equivalent with some nice puzzle solving baked in. WE can sense that the tower in the background is our destination, still there is some ominous with the foreground and it is clear that there is a puzzle here we need to solve. Very nice depth, yet keeping some tension! Even the crane, which is probably stationary, makes me believe that it will start to move at any moment and hurt us. Really cool. I've ranked this 4.5 because there are some perspecitve challenges. E.g. the handrail is smaller on the upper platform than the lower. The tension in the ropes defy gravity a little since the arch is strange but otherwise a really nice moody image :)

BoRKman responds:

Thanks for the reply! I can agree with the ropes (Its supposed to be wires but) are a bit strange and handrail is smaller and so. But hey. We all begin with something. All we can do is improve and practice.

GASP! After seeing this I just sat there with my mouth open for like 3 mintues just enjoying the image. It's not that I am a Link Fanboy. Never even played Zelda but this image is soo cool. The perspective, the drama, the coloring, the poses, all soo good! In addition, due to the stress in Link's face countra the shade version you can tell that this battle is not going well. However, what impresses me most is the perspective! I've tried to do renderings from this angle and it's a pain to get the forshortening and everything else to work and you my friend, nailed it! I can't really fault it other than I'd liked a more dramatic background to fit the scene. It might be that the background fits well with the scene from the game but being a newb without that knowledge I feel like more could have been done there. Perhaps some dramatic clouds at least? Amazing work!

fabianlpineda responds:

I like to do this kind of perspectives in my animations. It is really difficult, that why I choose them, to improve my drawing skills.
And the simply Background is because in the game you have to fight with this copy of Link in a room like this, just a wet floor, a tree in the middle and a white background; and ok, the gates. That's the main reason, and the other is that I don't have time to make elaborated backgrounds :D. I'm an animator.

Thanks for the comment!

Wow! I don't know if I need to say more really... but I will! ;) This image is amazing, not only does it look like the animated movie, it brings it to the next level with the obvious jade weapon that was common in that age. Next, we've seen Poh(?) have that helmet/hat in the series but here it is part of his outfit. The fact that he is practicing against the SKY shows that he's reached the level of master (level 99). Master Ugwey (?) would be proud ;)

Execution wise, as I said, the rendering looks like the movie almost. The pose, layout of the piece, colors, etc. are all top-notch. If I didn't know better I'd say this is a randering for a poster for Kung-Fu Panda 4! Amazing work!

ParadoxArt responds:

Thank you very much for your kind words Alegroth :).

My jaw just dropped like an inch! Wow that is amazing. This does NOT look like a canvas painting but an HDR photo. The atmosphere, with the girl, I can almost feel the autumn cold and still there is her facial expression. At first I thought it was a smirk, but then I looked again and sensed fear. What has she seen, sensed that we do not see in the image? What is causing this... dread? The more I think about it the more I want to know, the more I fantasize, the more afraid I become! Excellent! An amazing piece. My only wish is that you had added some contrast after you had transitioned the image to digital format as the photo has desaturated it a bit (I assume) such that the blacks are now a bit too light grays. However, this is nitpicking as the piece overall is beyond... amazing! Well done.

Furious-Monkey responds:

Thank you for the thoughtful reply! There's definitely something out there, scuttling around in the leaves. She hasn't spotted yet, but it's making too much noise to be the wind.

I probably could have bumped the contrast up a little...but sometimes when you do that, you lose the medium tones. She's kinda pale as it is...

I don't... wha... what is that? huh? This image leaves me laughing and puzzled at the same time. I love the mix of the orcish WOW style with Shrek! However, what is the weapon he's using? ;) It seems soft, yet... well... What is going on here?

Artiscally, the image is amazing given the medium you've used. The shading, coloring, armor design and execution are all top notch. There is a depth of view due to nice shading but I'd love to see some stronger contrast to give even more depth (Rationale for 4.5/5). Overall though I must say that if I'd depict Shrek at level 99... this is it! Amazing work :)

DIWAKAR responds:

Thank you Sir. Glad you Liked it.
I really enjoyed drawing it.

I love this! You can practically taste the evil! The image makes me smirk, which is quite fun. The execution, even though there are som flaws here and there, like the perspective of the villains stomach, the size of the rocks in the distance of the bridge, etc. could be a bit better. But you know what, I don't care! Because the focus of the image, which is the villain's face is spot on! It's only after looking at that, at length, I notice the dead prince behind her. Really nice! The design of the character makes her recognizable as Malefient(?) but you make her your own with the almost Alienesk design. Really cool. The color palette, especially the blues and purples also appeal a lot to me, not to mention the thorny tree in the background! Really cool image. I will definentely look at your other images :)

This is more awesome than I think many will think! The mix of the pokemon and the darksouls theme is amazingly well put together. The artisic style also, even though minimalistic, helps bring the two genres together in a cool way and the image feels really thought through. I have however only given you 4.5 out of 5 because I'd love to see some more shading in the piece to give some more depth to the charecter. For instance some rim-shading to round the legs had gone a long way. However, I love the idea and the theme. Well done :)

Haha, my daugther (3 years old) loves that show and I don't remember the main character ever looking like this ;) Nice rendering though, especially with the media you have used. There are some anatomy issues, for instance her feet are uneavenly large, but the shading and the concept of the piece is great. Really funny so I thank you for the laugh. :)

Sshire0 responds:

thanks m8 :D
I will work harder at my anatomy
btw hope your daugther would like "adult" Peppa :D

Dat lower lip! Really sensual picture. Makes me think about Leia in the 6th (?) starwars movie with that bra though. Otherwise an amazing piece. The skin is nice and smooth and the shading in terms of brush quality with emphasis on the face creates an natural focus point on the face! I love watching images that manages to do that since I myself struggle, A LOT, with what to detail and what to not detail. In general I detail too much, which leaves my own images quite flat. Therefore I am always excited to see someone that has mastered this trait! Awesome work! I will definently look more at your works :)

LukeF responds:

Wow, Thank you so much again for the kind words. I've never seen star wars but i do see he resemblance i guess :D

For me when trying to have a focal point be prominent, I find it useful to have most the details around or in that area. You can also line up lines in objects to point towards where you want the veiwer to look, for example in this piece I curved the clouds towards the face.

Thank you so much again, Im so happy you like my work.

Hi, I'm a PhD in Software Engineering that uses art as an escape from my work. I like to draw but also to work in other media such as putty, which I've used to build my award winning showcars.
